Congratulations to Bishop Malcolm on his appointment as Archbishop of Liverpool

                On Friday it was announced that the Bishop of Nottingham, the Right Reverend Malcolm McMahon, has been appointed as the ninth Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Liverpool. We will be sad to see him go after more than 13 years service to the Catholics of Nottingham Diocese.

'Christians together on Oakwood' - You're chance to pray for our community alongside others

'Christians together on Oakwood'

Launched during the global Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, at the start of the national HOPE 14 outreach, this local initiative is for you if you profess Jesus as your Saviour; want others to know him; you live and/or worship and/or work on Oakwood!

We meet once a month for prayer for our community and enjoy fellowship and cake together!

Next meeting: Monday 14th April 7.15pm for 7.30pm.

Oakwood Hosts the Women's World Day of Prayer Evening Service

It was a privilege for the Church On Oakwood to be asked to host this year's celebration of Women's World Day of Prayer. This event has been running for a great many years and allows the women from a different country to create a liturgy that will be celebrated all over the world.

Our Communities Celebrate Ash Wednesday Together

Our now traditional joint service for Ash Wednesday was held again at St Alban's Church.

It's a true blessing to see both the morning and evening congregations come together in this way, and shows just how far both Protestant and Catholic communities have come in our ecumenism journey.

A big thank you to the St Alban's Youth Group who served us all delicious soup and a roll after the Mass.

Oakwood Gala - volunteers needed

The Oakwood Gala is on Sunday 13th July. The Church on Oakwood will be organising the refreshments in the Community Centre, stewarding and offering an open air religious service alongside Woodlands Church from 11am to 11.30am. If you can offer to help with any of these activities, it would be much appreciated.
